These powders can be used in a variety of ways to create sparkles inside the glass or as a Mica luster on or in a fused, blown slumped, or lamp worked piece of glass. There are 24 exciting colors available – all tested and suitable for glass working. There are three series of colors to choose from. The Glitter series are an exciting new series of colors that have a stunning ‘diamond' like glitter effect on glass. The Highlight series have an interesting, somewhat subtle and subdued ‘shimmer' effect on glass. While the powder itself looks white, the shimmer effect is seen when the glass is seen from an angle. The overall look of a Highlight color is white, but the shimmer is blue, or red or gold, etc. The last series, the Sparkle series, is a series of bright, intense colors - shiny golds, reds, greens, violets, etc. Mica powders can be used as a substitue or enhancement to plain glass, dichroic glass, gold leaf or silver leaf. Works on all glass except borosilicate (hard) glass. Use the instructions as guidelines only – do not limit yourself to the techniques listed here.
